We are calling for volunteers to assist with the smooth running of this Saturday’s AIC Round 7 fixtures at Villanova Park (June 14). Your support plays a key role in creating a positive and well-organised matchday experience.

Training Schedules - Term 2, 2025
Week 9 Training/Trial Schedule and Transport Details (Commencing Monday 16 June) - linked: JUNE 11 version
- Buses will transport Basketball and Tennis boys back from Clem Jones Centre and Morningside Tennis Centre to Villa in the mornings, from Monday 16 June to Thursday 19 June. Buses will also transport Rugby League players one-way to Villa Park on Monday 16 June to Thursday 19 June afternoons. Parents need to collect their son from Villa Park at 5:15pm.
- Basketball A/B squads will be announced by Tuesday, 24 June, with A/B trials to occur on Tuesday, 15 July at Iona College (Week 1 of Term 3). Teams selected for Basketball C/D teams for trials on Saturday, 19 July will be announced by Friday, 18 July (all A-D Teams will trial on Saturday, 19 July). Coaches will base selection on performance during Villanova trials and training – not on club or external experience. Basketball singlet distribution will commence as soon as squads are selected in Week 1 of Term 3 – no student is to miss selection until the completion of their first training session in Week 1 of Term 3.
- Please note: Any training session changes will be communicated to parents via the Villanova College App. Unless training is officially cancelled, student attendance is expected. The Term 3 Week 1 Training/Trial Schedule will be released by Thursday, next week.

- Years 7 to 12 teams will train at Villa Park. A bus will transport students from the College to the venue. Parents are asked to collect their son from Villa Park promptly at 5:15pm.

Term 2 Initiatives (user pays)
The Wildcats Basketball Academy is back!
This highly popular program is returning for another action-packed 7-week block, starting Sunday, May 11 and finishing Sunday, June 22. Sessions will run each Sunday morning from 7:30am–10:30am in Goold Hall (see below for your son’s relevant one-hour block).
Designed to help your son develop both core skills and advanced game play, the academy is led by an expert coaching team made up of NBL, WNBL, NBL1, State and National level coaches – including members of our own 1st V Coaching Team.
Each session is tailored to age groups and focuses on:
· Shooting technique and ball handling
· Defensive and offensive footwork
· Court awareness and game IQ
· Team concepts and spacing
· Strength, agility, and conditioning
Schedule:
· Year 5: 7:30 – 8:30am
· Years 6/7: 8:30 – 9:30am
· Years 8/9: 9:30 – 10:30am
Cost: $140 (NON-REFUNDABLE) for the full 7-week program

Term 2 Speed & Agility Program
All students in Years 5 to 8 are warmly invited to join our Term 2 Speed & Agility Program – just $160 for 8 exciting sessions delivered by Matty Scott and our elite coaching team at Whinstanes Oval.
Students can choose either Monday or Thursday mornings, with sessions running from 7:00am to 8:00am.
The program kicks off – Monday 28 April – or Thursday 1 May. Registrations are still open via Parent Lounge – it is not too late to join!
This is a fantastic opportunity to sharpen speed, build coordination and boost confidence in a dynamic and supportive environment.
