Leadership Team role | Coorparoo, Brisbane | From Term 1, 2027

Villanova College is an independent Catholic school for boys in the Augustinian tradition, educating approximately 1,550 students across Years 5 to 12. We are a thriving, values-driven community grounded in 78 years of history, and guided by our motto: Vincit Veritas – Truth Conquers.

The Role

This is a pivotal senior leadership appointment. As Dean of Teaching & Learning, you will join the College Leadership Team and hold strategic responsibility for teaching and learning excellence across the full school, Years 5 to 12.

Working closely with the Principal and Deputy Principal, you will lead the implementation of the College Vision for Learning, shape a high-performance academic culture, and inspire a broad team of middle leaders to deliver excellence every day.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead whole-school pedagogical practice and curriculum improvement
  • Drive the development and review of the College Vision for Learning
  • Build data literacy and use evidence to improve student outcomes
  • Lead the Teacher Development Program and Professional Learning Calendar
  • Oversee academic reporting, course selection, and student recognition
  • Contribute to the College Strategic Plan and School Improvement Plan
  • Anticipate changes in post-secondary pathways and future-of-work trends

About You

You are a confident, collegial and deeply committed educational leader. You bring intellectual rigour and genuine pastoral care, and you lead with both.

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Genuine commitment to Catholic education and the Augustinian mission of the College
  • Significant senior leadership experience with a proven record of whole-school teaching and learning improvement
  • Deep expertise in contemporary pedagogy, curriculum design and assessment
  • Proven capacity to lead, develop and inspire teachers and middle leaders
  • Strong strategic thinking skills and experience contributing to or leading school improvement planning
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage across the full school community
  • Current Queensland College of Teachers (QCT) registration
  • Working knowledge of child safeguarding obligations and applicable industrial instruments
